Communion

This is an hour of open worship in which the Lord's Supper, Communion or Breaking of Bread also takes place.

Time of service

Every Sunday morning at 10 am.

Who may attend?

A member of the church is invited to open and close the meeting. Usually, the service introduction with a hymn, bible reading, some brief teaching and a prayer, although this is at the discretion of the individual invited.

The meeting is then open to the Christians present to contribute to the worship as they are gifted and the Holy Spirit leads them. Typically someone will pray, another read from the Bible, with or without comment, or someone will speak, sharing what God has done in his/her life recently. These contributions are for the praise of God and the benefit of those present.

Any member may give thanks to God for the bread and the cup, by announcing a hymn, or praying, or both. Ordinary bread and unfermented grape juice are used.

A collection is taken at this service usually after the bread and cup have been distributed.

Family Service

Time of service

Every Sunday morning at 11.30 am.

Who may attend?

Everyone is very welcome. The service is intended for the whole church family. Children of all ages stay to the first part of the meeting, then go to a teaching session appropriate to their age group, while older teens and adults remain for the sermon. The teaching pattern is based upon that of the Scripture Union. Over time, a wide range of Christian teaching is covered in a straightforward way, accessible to people beginning to find faith as well as the more mature Christian. Conduct of the service.

A member of the church is appointed to open, guide and close the worship.

The person giving the teaching might be an invited speaker but is often a member of the church.

An opportunity to support the work of the church is provided via a collection usually taken up immediately after the children have left. However many members give via standing orders and just pass the bag on.

A crĂȘche is available for children 3 years of age and under.
